More and more research is being conducted at places such as the Rehabilitation Research Training Center on Aging with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (RRTCADD) at the University of Illinois, Chicago, and the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center – including an extensive study that they have conducted – related to the siblings of individuals with developmental disabilities. These are important pieces of information, and can help shed light on a number of variables and nuances within the sibling experience.
